Some particular fields (2-3 fields) on the Appointment records should be editable by the users who are participants in the calendar appointment

Hi Team,

We have a requirement that some particular fields (2-3 fields) on the Appointment records  should be editable by the users participants in the calender appointment but not for other users . Is it achievable

    If you dont mind making all fields editable instead of just couple of fields, then you can do this:

    1. Trigger a plugin when the record is saved

    2. Plugin will read the participant list and share the record (with edit privileges) with these participants

    Though I would like to caution that sharing can clutter the database if used extensively.

    Hi Amiy,

    there is no OOB way of doing this, as Field level security users cannot be dynamically selected based on party list.  I would recommend to place all 2-3 fields in a section and then onLoad of form, write a simple JS to check where logged-In users belongs to partylist or not, if yes, then give edit permission otherwise lock whole section.

    You have to write form load script to check whether the current login user is in activity party list, then allow them to edit otherwise disable the form controls by default.
