Delete an Approved Timesheet?

Hello,

Once a timesheet has gone through workflow and been approved by a supervisor, the workflow completes. Does anyone know of a way to delete the timesheet?

Our environment is hosted, we are told that we do not have access, nor do the hosts to SQL to target the timesheet tables and remove records. Now, I am skeptical that there is zero ways to have a timesheet deleted once approved. I imagine that we can have Microsoft execute a SQL script. Can anyone confirm a way to do this through the front end?

We are on Microsoft Dynamics, Finance, HR & Payroll, 10.0.7

Hi FrankieD,

If you can access the DB, then you can change the workflow status and delete it.

Could you tell us why it must be deleted? You can change the timesheet value after posting it.

Hi Frankie,

you can use the recall timesheet button available under Timesheet pane It will recall timesheet back to draft status and then it can be deleted.

if timesheets are approved then should pass negative timesheet as correction

why it needs to be deleted? lot of tracebiity and control would be lost by allowing deletion

The recall option is only available when the timesheet has not been approved. In the application the approved status is kind of definite. The only option is then posting the timesheet, functionally.

If the timesheet is incorrect, it should not be approved. So, there is a responsibility for the supervisor to take this job serious.

Like mentioned above, you can create reversing transactions/reversal timesheets to correct the hours.

Hi Frankie.

This will require some development work to be done.

If your organisation is heavy on timesheet registrations then i would suggest that you look into other options which also provide an elegant mobile app, mail app etc. such as Harvest. There is also an ISV add-in that allows you to connect this to the project management and accounting module in Dynamics called Time Connect, you can find it on MS AppSource here.

Thank you Jesper, I'm going to be setting up a demo with a different integration that is supposed to work seamlessly with D365 F&O, per our "hosts".

Hi FrankieD-CAC,

There is a form called „reset Workflow Status“ available. In here you can select an approved timesheet and reset the status back to draft. As soon as it is in draft you can delete it.
