Bar code Scanners in AX 2009

Hi All,

 I am facing a difficulty while using bar code scanners for selecting items on transfer orders and journals like picking list. Each time I have to place the cursor in the filed bar code then scan it. In detail once I selected the item and quantity using bar code scanner system doesn't create new lines (Which is my problem) It should create a new line and the cursor should automatically place in the field bar code. How can I do that ?

Please help.

    Can you please explain in detail ? I couldn't find such configurations for the device.

    Hi Alex,

    One way for solution it is in the barcode device configuration add a "enter" in each capture. That worked for me.

    Thanks for the reply.

    Mainly I have to use it on the form picking list. I will just open a picking journal keep the cursor on the field barcode and scan the barcode generated on the labels ( these labels generated from related WIP work orders) it should bring the lot number, Item number etc. Its just a handheld device connected via usb for initial testing purpose.

    Hi Alex,

    You haven't mentioned what exact form you are using and if it is within AX or using e.g. a handheld scanner. Do you have an add-on or customizations for the scanning? Or did you just link a scanner as HID device?
