What do you know about Dynamics Mobile for Microsoft Dynamics AX?

Hi guys,

What do you know about Dynamics Mobile? Would you or your customers use its offline mode? What would be the desired mobile functionality? What would be the preferred mobile OS - Windows 8, Android, iOS? Any other requirement?

Hi Danail,

As we live in a connected world, I don't think there are many features which you would like to have off-line. I can imagine some product information and creating quotations or orders would be interested for sales people off-line.

When using mobile apps I prever online and actual information.

The OS depends on what type of devices are used by each company.

The most used mobile apps for me are already available: timesheets and expense management.

Hi Andre,

Yes, a lot of people require offline when performing filed sales. Other examples include warehouse and field services.

Hi Danail,

I do agree with field sales and service management. For service management you can have a mobile internet connection as it is usually work in your country. In some cases, you would like to have some features offline.

Personally I don't like to work off line in warehouses.

We have used few customized solutions, which are readily available in the market for field sales and service and specifically meant for that use.

Basically these solutions are exteremely easy, convenient to use, fast, platform independent and complete solution available offline mode as well.

Its really easy to integrate with AX at end of day.

These solutions would be extermely helpful, when you have bulk volume like 100s of people are on field.

You really dont need complicated logic at times like Van Sales, field Servicing etc.

However when you dont have much volume, better to use AX directly via RDP or EP. You really dont need any Add-On.
