Dear Experts,

As the department is saying that we want to add our info in ax as well. There work is repairing all faulty things such as production machinery, electricity, building repairing, doors, glasses, internet wires repairing ETC. Please suggest me which module will be suitable for them,  and how they will maintain there work in dynamics ax .Many thanks in advance.

    Hello Shabir,

You can have a look at the standard project and service modules in AX2012.

If you find especially the service module functionalities not sufficient then there are a couple of 3rd party tools available that are dealing with repair, maintenance of machines, etc. Please have a look at the MS appsource as well to become able assessing what the standard application can do for you and where you possibly have some limitations.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

There is a module due to be released in  D365 FOE - The same module is available to by at Ax 2012 and there are several other isv options.

D365 offers field service which you can integrated via the Common data model.

Ax Service module is basically an extension of the project module, e.g. each job can be a project or an asset can be a project and each job a sub project against it etc - and Service orders are like job cards- that allow you  to book time and material to a job  This is fine for simple repairs and routine  servicing by time.  It can be enhanced with features like case management, and document attachment. It is not  a full CAFM solution and lacks many features needed e.g. for condition monitoring or plant overhauls, and does not integrate with route and capacity scheduling, but it serves its purpose.
