Hello Kishor,
The tables you're seeing after installing Business Performance Analytics (BPA) in Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations (D365FO) are part of the standard BPA configuration. BPA leverages the Export to Data Lake feature to synchronize selected data entities and analytical models into Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2. These tables are automatically created and maintained by the system, reflecting transactional and master data exported from D365FO specifically for analytical use.
This synchronization ensures that the data is always up to date with the source system and is optimized for reporting and analysis using tools like Power BI and Azure Synapse Analytics.
For more detailed information, you can refer to the following resources:
Hi Kishor,
Yes, it's possible to add project-related tables to BPA, but they aren’t included by default. You need to use Export to Data Lake in D365FO to export project entities like ProjTable or ProjInvoiceTrans, and then link them in Power BI or Microsoft Fabric to build custom reports.
ProjTable
ProjInvoiceTrans
Microsoft also covers this in their Extending BPA guide and Export to Data Lake.
You can also refer to Microsoft’s official BPA deck (DTV050EXT) Microsoft BPA Extensibility Deck —especially slides 13–23—for extensibility scenarios. Let me know if you need help getting started!
