YE Close - Total of transactions in the year is not 0.00. Total is xxx. This is a serious error.

Hello, I hope this finds everyone well.

With reference to the subject, we received the error and discovered it relates to the AR Trade main account. That 835k is the exact amount of the AR main account's closing balance for FY24 / opening balance FY25.

Interesting that it relates to this balance. Unsure on what is incorrect with that particular balance (or transactions within it) to cause it to stop the YE close.

I ran the check with the fix option but no clues in there as to where the problem lies. Upon running YE close after the check/fix we still receive the same error.

Is rebuilding the balances the next option?. I did try a rebuild on financial dimension set 'main account' only (there are numerous sets) but no joy on that.

It's holding up the client's year end close so any ideas are much welcome and appreciated.

Yes, this error could mean a number of things: there are various reasons why it might occur.

Please involve your technical consultant and ask them to debug the issue to identify the root cause.

Hi @MM-28080955-0,

Sohaib has already provided a solid technical solution based on his prior experience, so that should be considered as a last resort.

From the functional side, I recommend first again running the Ledger transaction consistency check and then rebuilding balances for all financial dimension sets. Afterward, check the results.
