Dear Friends
System is issuing items by weighted Average Method and Showing closing stock value at last purchase price due to which there is a difference in Store Ledgers in chart of Accounts and Stock Summary Totals. We want system to issue items by FIFO Method and stock valuation is shown by FIFO method.
Can We change the valuation method.

it's not possible to change costing method, when there are ledger entries for an item.
best you copy that item and change the costing method to fifo for the new item.
then set the original item to blocked.
that's the standard nav way for that issue.
Hi,
How about the Posting Setup..
Weather it will also copy automatically.
There is no Copy Item function per se (not in NAV 2017, and I don't believe there was one in NAV 2016 either; although you or a developer can easily create one), so I think what Jonathan Archer is suggesting is that you create another another Item with the same properties as the existing item (but select FIFO as your costing method for the new one).
And as you do so, you can also assign the same Gen. Prod. Posting Group, Inventory Posting Group, etc. to the new Item.
A word of caution: NAV will not allow you to have two Items with the same No., so you can rename the original item first to identify it as the old item, and assign that No. to the new item.
I hope this helps. If my response has answered your question, please verify it by clicking Yes to "Does this answer your question?"
look at the AddOn Tool from CKL Software (www.ckl-kore.de). The module is called Costing Method Change !
