Hi,

On dynamics Ax 09, I cannot delete a document attached.
When the document is attached and got the statut "link", I analyze that is not possible to delete it.
The error message is: "Document management directory does not exist.".

I check the setup on the document management ( basic, setup, document management)

it but it still not resolve the problem.

is the document stored in the database or outside AX?

can you show me the related docuref and docuvalue data (use table browser)

Hi Dick,

When I got the problem, it was about a document store outside AX.

I found the way to delete all the document imported by changing the setup of the type of the document ( define in data base). I tried to import a document define in data base but I got a message that I was not allow to import data in Ax.

Do you have a explication or another "best practice" to attach a document?

please at a breakpoint at the class info, method add. from that point you can see why it revuese to import, perhaps you can change AX or configuration settings of document management.

By the way ar you runnen ax3.0 or higher? in case of 4.0 it could be that you need aditition staps are needed

the code that inserts the data run's on the server. this explains our trouble.

The same thing happen with me, but at the begining of the attaching document, it keeps telling me the same error "Document management directory does not exist",

Hi Mahmoud,

Hope it's help, use it only if necessary

Basic > Setup > Document management > Document types

Select the type, tab general, change the file localisation

archive directory ==> database

open again the document attached, delete the line ( it's delete only the record and not the document)

after that, go back on the Basic > Setup > Document management > Document types

back on the previous set up ( database ==> archive directory)

I have a problem with documents stored in the database.

When I generate the document the system gives an error: 'the document cannot be saved in the database the file is locked"

How can I fix this?

I also want to emial the documents via the email functionality in CRM, the system gives the error "archive directory must be specified" it is specified. How do I fix this to?
