how big is the swap file?

in case you the committed value get bigger than the number on the right of the slash. the swap file does not matter.

could you tell me the Ax version?

    Hey Dick,

my virtual memory was set to 2047 MB, so maybe it is to small.

And am using AX 2012 R2 (6.2.1000.156) on a windows 7 ultimate machine.

    Kind Regards,

    Paul

is SQL also local installed? in that case what is the max memory of the sql instance, default is unlimited

No we use a distributed installation. So AOS and SQL are on other machines and the sql instance is limited to 4096MB

so you run windows 7 + ax in a virtual environment?

I have restarted my servers and started compilation proccess from the AOS Server. It worked for me.

Yes I am running a complete virtualized distributed AX environment. The machines are virtualized via Hyper-V. So I have one machine for the client,

    one for AOS

    one for SQL

have a look at the sizing guide.

    msdn.microsoft.com/.../aa548679(v=ax.10).aspx

by the way, are there before the crash additional errors in the windows event log?

  • Paul Heisterkamp Profile Picture

Yes a know the sizing guide but in this case we do not want to enlarge the machines we are using, but maybe I can assign a bit more memory to the SQL... :-)

And no there are no additional errors in the event log.

Dick do you think the error "Out of Memory" is from the SQL?

    look at the windows eventlog.

incase not clear, look at http://pal.codeplex.com

these are perfmon trace templates and can also analyse it.
