SmartList Designer Exports Numbers to Excel as Text

Hi:

I have noticed that, no matter how you try to format a numeric or currency value field using SmartList Designer for GP 2015, the numbers export to Excel as text.

I have read that this issue is fixed in GP 2016.  But, again, the client is using GP 2015.

Is there not a way of exporting such numeric values from SmartList to Excel as just that - "numeric values".

The problem, of course, with exporting values as text is that the end user cannot conduct "SUM" and other mathematical functions on those values in Excel.

Any guidance on this would be much appreciated.

    Sounds like until the client upgrades, they will have to work-around this issue. For the columns that are supposed to be numeric, I would just multiply them by 1, and then copy-paste-special value.  Another option would be to  create a template in Excel that has all the formulas to 'fix' the numeric values in columns off to the right, and after exporting the SL, just copy it into the template.  You could also setup an Export Solution that uses a macro to do all of those steps.
