this is in dynamics 365 and its a general journal I know in earlier versions when u look at journal form there is a reversal/ reclassify date option for posted journals. I do not see this in dynamics 365 is there another way to reverse the posted journal entry?

Well  the link share by me clearly says,

To undo an erroneous journal posting, you select the entry and create a reverse entry (entries identical to the original entry but with opposite sign in the amount field) with the same document number and posting date as the original entry. After reversing an entry, you must make the correct entry.

You can only reverse entries that are posted from a general journal line. An entry can only be reversed once.

    Hi allaboutax,

Here are your options for reversal given journal is already posted:

    1. First option (if few journal lines), reverse it manually by entering another journal exactly same with swapping of credits/debits.

    2. Second option (Lot of journal lines), select posted journals and use open in excel. Create another journal, use open in excel, copy paste data from first journal to second journals and swap credits/debits

    Hi allaboutax,

Rather than using Excel, you can of course also use something nicer, such as an embedded PowerApp for the reversal.

Here is an example how this works is illustrated here ;-)

    Hi Allaboutax,

Suggestion above was provide considering you don't often have to reverse journals as that opens up different discussion altogether. You can use combination of powerapps / flow but that will require little bit of learning curve. the link shared by Ludwig provide good details.

    Hi allaboutax,

Find the voucher and main account of journal entry, filter them in voucher transaction and there is a reverse button at the top. It will automatically generate a reverse voucher.
