PM 30600 - User ID field

ReportReport

I have a user who is wants to create a report related to historical payable transactions.  He would like the user id of the user who created the distribution line for the payable in history.  PM30600 has a user id column but my local environment has no user id data in this table.

Can someone tell me what process updates the user id field in this table?  My first thought is that it is related to account security but I cannot confirm that.

I have just been testing your inquiry to determine when the user id field gets populated in the distribution tables, if we get back to the PM distribution work table, the user id is supposed to be populated upon posting (according to SDK), then this data shall be moved to the PM30600. Although, the field is empty and still can't find any justification as further intensive testing is required.

If you track down the transaction either to the PM History File (PM30200) or PM Control Table (PM00400), you will find the "PTDUSRID" field indicating the user who posted the transaction as a whole regardless of the distribution line. In your company, do you have users entering transaction and users modifying the distribution?

After all, the User ID field will help you figure out who posted, regardless of who entered or modified. If you are looking for such details, you might need to consider further tracking represented with Dynamics GP Activity Tracking (Tools > Setup > System > Activity Tracking).

    Your feedback is highly appreciated,
