PURCHASE REQUISITION ENTITIES

We have hundreds of lines for Purchase Requisition. I am looking for the easiest way to import the details in AX.

Creating Entities & DIXF are the possible solution but I don't know what are the entities that I need as Purchase Requisition is not available in pre-configured entities in AX 2012.

I have the same question (0)

Is it possible to import selected fields then other fields will automatically populate based on the imported field?

    Hi,

Could you please explain your requirement details? Do you require to import PR into AX for once? If so using DIXF is the best way. Since there is no entity for PR out of the box, you have to create new entity via wizard.

If you require on a recurring basis or update data from external sources or based on events, AIF is the best option according to Microsoft. You can refer the link below for data migration options based on different scenarios.

---> Yes, this is what I need. But I don't know which tables and fields should I use. We are creating the PR Lines by entering Item Number & Qty, Warehouse & Batch Number under Inventory Dimension.

    Hi,

You should create PurchReqTable entity and PurchReqLine entity. Wizard will automatically create needed fields from related tables on staging table. And wizard will also create needed method to generate required fields. You have to fill mandatory fields for these two tables at least. You can check mandatory fields in AOT.

After that you should create a processing group for line and header tables. You can refer the link below which illustrates the importing process for purchase order lines similar to purchase requisitions.

Do I need to make it as composite entity?

There are different ways of working this out:

    Option 1:

    1. Create / Import entity for header (Step 1)

    2. Create / Import entity for lines (Step 2)

    Option 2:

    1. Create entity (Import header + Lines). Via code parse and create header + lines

    Option 3:

    1. Create composite entity (this is combination of option 1 (step 1 and step 2). Format has to be XML in this case.
