Hi AXperts,

Question1:

If we restore a environment AX Databases(pre-compiled) with another environment and then finish all the required changes in tables and service accounts.

Is Full CIL and DB SYnc required here?

Question2:

Where does the information about the relation between DynamicsAX database and DynamicsAX_Model get stored?

Eg: If I have multiple instances of DAX and DAX_model databases in one sql server and If I miss the naming convention of DAX_Model how do I know the databases?

Thanks,

SAA

    1. Which database? The transactional database, the modelstore database, or both?

    2. As far as I know, AX simple looks for the same name plus _model suffix.

    1. Both Transaction and Model store databases.

    Thanks Martin.

Answer 1) Is Full CIL and DB SYnc required here.?

No As such, but its recommend to run DB Sync and generate the Full-CIL, if you face any issue.

Answer 2) Where does the information about the relation between DynamicsAX database and DynamicsAX_Model get stored?

Method 1) You can check in AX Server Configuration

Method 2) Click System administration > Setup > Database >

If you move the complete modelstore, then it's not necessary to recompile it.

And if you move the transactional database with it, there is no need to synchronize it, because nothing has changed.

    Thanks Umesh,

from server config utility we get the DAX and DAX_Baseline databases but not the model information and the same from Database information.

I need to know if any thing which stores that clearly tells DAX and DAX_model are linked.

I believe I've already answered the question about modelstore databases.
