Is there an audit report that shows what types of changes user make? is there a way to run an audit trail of changes i make in the system?

    No.  CRUD operation history isn't tracked without enabling database logging.

    is there any other way around if we dont want to enable database logging? as this would potentially be affecting the performance of the system

    Database logging has to be enabled on tables to provide that level of audit detail.  Here's a good blog article on it - dynamics-tips.com/.../
