Hide/remove Legal entities from users and system administrator view

Hi,

There are many entities that were created and non-operational now in live environment. I would like to delete and don't think there is a way to delete entities in R3? Or, at least want to hide it from users's view and shorten the list to select it from. For this i have created an Organization hierarchy and assigned it to user roles. This seems to be working only for non-system administration users.

When you are a system administration you would still see all entities, in-spite of assigning the Org. hierarchy. Any solution to this problem, via updating sql at the back-end (safely) or XDS? Temporarily hiding it from users view may be the best option (some may be deleted as there is no transaction) as we ever want to go back to old entities for audit purpose.

Hi,

If there is no transaction recorded and any additional setup made, you should be able to delete the legal entity. Have you already tried to do that?

Yes Ludwig, there are some setups done there as well. But, no transaction entered. I followed the steps to remove transaction (anyways) and other few steps...in vain. Any help to hide the entities will be very helpful.

Do you get a message indicating which records are preventing you from deleting the Legal entity?

Brandon, Delete button itself is grayed out in Organization administration list page and in legal entity form view as well. I thought it was part of any organization hierarchy, but it is not.

That's the reason looking for a solution to hide the entities from users's view. Although, i can do this by creating org hierarchy as mentioned in my first post, it does not work for system administrator role. Also, hiding the entity would be a better option for the legal entities where there were transactions and not used anymore.

If it was once part of an organization hierarchy, then that can still be the reason the Delete button is disabled. The organization hierarchy tables are time stamp tables, and removing a legal entity from a hierarchy still leaves it references in older versions of those records. I had to clear out references to legal entities from those tables manually (since no means exists within AX) before I could delete several legal entities that were otherwise unused. Check those tables first.

Brandon, Can i know the tables? If you can share SQL, that will be great. Also, is there anyway to hide the entities at all?
