Just as a sanity check, add a couple more parameters: Verbose, ServiceAOSName and ServiceAOSWSDLPort.

Example Test-AXReportServerConfiguration -ServiceAOSName MyAOSServer -ServiceWSDLPort 8101 -Verbose

If you are unsure what WSDL Port you are running, have a look at the Dynamics AX 2012 Service Configuration under Administrative Tools.

Make sure you are polling the correct settings from the correct AOS.

If indeed the correct instance is pulled, and reported as not started, then there is something fishy.

EDIT: I just noticed the same as Mukesh. The componets are not installed. I will leave my answer in here still, for future reference (hopefully). ;-)

If the services are running and deployed on the AOS (keywords like AOT compiled, CIL compiled, initialization checklist run ok, etc), then my best guess is a firewall blocking traffic on the AOS server.

    Hi Tom,

Firewall is off,so i don't think it will cause a problem

I am using an "express' edition of SQL server 2008 r2 will that be a problem?

    Narayan,

Are u able to validate settings in System administration > Setup > Business Intelligence > Report Services > Report Servers?? If not, configure SSRS configuration first using Reporting services configuration manager.

One know limitation with the Express flavor of SQL Server is that everything needs to reside inside SQL Server Express. This includes the Dynamics AX database and the SSRS database and service. I haven't used SQL Server Express for anything AX related, to be honest.

    Mukesh,

"Validation" does not through any error.

    Tom

All the databases reside inside sql server express

Has any one tried using SQL server express edition with AX 2012?

    Hi

You have to create the follow record on Database ReportServer, Table Roles.

64331790-405D-45B8-8EB1-A923B347C30E DynamicsAXBrowser Microsoft Dynamics AX browser role to view folders, reports and subscribe to reports. 0010101001000100 0
