Person Creation From Unknown Senders

I am using Dynamcis CRM on-premise V9.1.13.12, We recently upgraded our CRM n December from 9.0.34.5 to 9.1.13.12, after the upgrade our client raised a concern that when a email comes in to CRM from unknown emailaddress(The emailaddres that is not available in the CRM system) the person is created with First Name and Last Name and other records like case, activities are linked to that person. Previously before the upgrade when an unknown emailaddress(The emailaddres that is not available in the CRM system) comes into CRM, person was created with the emailaddress in Last Name.

Can someone help me if this is new feature for Dynamics CRM on-premise that when an unknown emailaddress(The emailaddres that is not available in the CRM system) comes into CRM the exchange tries to get the details of the emailaddress and set them in the First and Last Names for person creation.
