Role Centre Customisation

Hello All,

Is it possible to keep only the respective "Department" in the Role Centre of NAV based on the User Profile? For example a Purchasing Agent or Manager should have access to features to Purchase module alone in the Departments. He or she should not be able to view other module records like Finance or Sales. I managed to create a new menu called Purchase and copied features from Purchase under Department to the new menu but stuck when it comes to add the Reports and Analysis section.

Though I could remove Department in "Customise Navigation Pane" it removes the entire section. Is there any work around for this?

You can remove the department menu using configuration mode. This allows you to remove department Menu for a specific profile/user. Let the RTC opened in configuration mode, and then remove the department menu. So you can preserve any changes in Menusuite.

However, if you don't want to remove it, the visibility of features is managed by the role/permissions you assign to your users.

Tahnk you Mr Demiliani. Of course I did. However I want to keep only one department, say for example the Purchase module alone for Purchase department users. Is it possible? Removing departments from configuration removes the entire section.

    Hi Krishnan,

What Permission Sets do users have? If users have SUPER Permission Set, they can see all departments. Assign BASIC and P&P* Permission Sets may adapt your requirement.

Yes, you are right. The scenario is such that some of the users have cross functional requirements. Say a Purchase Agent may also want access to HR. We did as you have mentioned. Just posed this question to know if there is a way without having to record Permissions.

    Thank you for the response.
