My products coating in other company

Hello all,

i am new user in nav 2012. Situation like that:

My company producing some sanitary hardware from metal which we coating in other company. Could somebody explain me step by step how i should do everything. Start point is when i finished my product and now is ready to be coated in other company.

And what should i do when it come back from my coating company some parts like spoilage.

In addition to what Robertas wrote, you might also be interested to setup different G/L accounts to store the values of coated items that were given away.

Hi Bickus,

you'll need to have a separate location as the company that does coating. When goods are physically sent for coating, move items (via transfer order) to the new location. When goods come back - move them back to your warehouse location.

If you want to add cost of coating onto item, the post the Charge Item Purchase invoice, and allocate against the Transfer Receipt.

Any damaged goods can be managed by using standard Item Journal as negative adjustment.
