Resource allocation to project

Hi Friends,
 
I have a query regarding resource allocation to the project, actually I am adding the resources to the project under Project team and scheduling fasttab, while adding the resource I select the Role Id, start date and end date then in the resource drop down resource is not showing. Actually, I am trying to add the same resource to the same project but with the different role, start and end date.
 
Also, if anyone can give more information on resource display, mean on what conditions the resource list is populated, any blog or document suggestion will be helpful.
