Ship To address change does not roll down

Posted on by 5

If during order entry you create an address for an existing Customer and select it as the Ship To address, the change does not roll down to the other item in the order: the popup asking if you want to do so comes up, but if you answer 'Yes' the change still doesn't roll down. This results in two packing slips, with one of the shipments going to the wrong address. Any ideas?

(as an aside, what should the "Category" be for this type of post? I am new to this forum)

I've seen this exact thing happen before.  It was due to customizations as Janelle suggested as a cause.  The customization was firing before the rolldown and basically stopping it.

Thank you for using Microsoft Forums.

When creating a new ship to address for an existing customer and selecting the 'YES' option to roll that change down to all line items on the order, all line items should be updating to the new ship to address.  I did quickly test this in the latest version with both a saved and unsaved order to ensure everything is working as expected and it was.

It sounds like that just the first line item might be getting the change when you roll down the address change.  Below are a couple of things that you could check for which might case issue:

    1. Do you have any 3rd party products or customization that connect into Sales Order Processing.  If you do, temporarily disable those and test with core Microsoft Dynamics GP functionality to see what your results are. support.microsoft.com/.../kb-steps-to-disable-third-party-products-or-temporarily-disable-additional-products-in-the-dynamics-set-file-in-microsoft-dynamics-gp-a1fd71d3-7b9f-2827-718c-8c6d5df5f4c5

    2. Do you have any customization or modifications on the Sales Order Processing windows used in the Sales Transaction Entry process?  If so, remove security from the modified window and test with just the default Microsoft Dynamics GP Sales Order Processing windows.

    3. Are there any custom triggers on SOP tables that might be interfering with this process.  If there are, try to disable those and test to see what results you get.

I hope this information helps get you started in troubleshooting your Ship To Address Roll down question.  If you are still having this issue with core Microsoft Dynamics GP code, then I would recommend opening a support ticket to dig deeper into what might be causing the Ship To Address change not to roll down to all items.

    Thank you,
