Copilot preview and general availability

Hi,

I have some questions because I'm not sure if I understand correctly.
The preview version of Copilot functionalities is like a demo—we have the opportunity to explore new solutions, test them, etc. But what does it mean when something is generally available? For example, Bank Account Reconciliation is generally available, but I don’t have it in my production environment. Does that mean my understanding of general availability is incorrect? I thought that if something is generally available, it means I can use it in the production environment. :(

Solved: Microsoft release packages public preview versus general availability

Another question: We have a list of planned and released functionalities.
Can you confirm if I got this right?

  • Yellow example – The preview version is available.
  • Red example – Neither the preview version nor general availability is available yet.
  • Green example – There was no preview version, only general availability right away.

Thanks!

It is all explained here at the beginning:

Note that Microsoft does not always follow the release notes, so date can be different. Also, when a feature becomes available, you might also need to update your environment to the new version.
Also, some features are released as features and require you to enable them manually:

    Hi

Got it! You're absolutely right—general availability means the feature is available for end users to upgrade and use. However, it's important to keep in mind that the specific version of Business Central you're using matters, and the Business Central administrator has to enable the feature for it to be accessible.

    Thanks

For Copilot-related capabilities, you can directly confirm them on the Copilot & AI capabilities page.

    Thanks
