Over delivery in Dynamics AX 2012 R3

I am looking fo a way to plan overdelivery within within purchase ordess that I can integrate with TMS / Load planning workbench?

The Business case is as follows:

- we order an amount of 100 pieces

- the supplier confirms 100 pieces

- the supplier sends his packing slip and we see that he will send us 103 pieces

- we define a load within the load planning workbench and define the load structure (pallets, items and Qualities)

Here we need to schedule the amount of 103 pieces of the specific item.

Unfortunately the load planning workbench will not allow to to schedule more that 100 pieces. Istead I get the following message and AX corrects it again to 100 pieces:

The regular over- and under-delivery parameters on PO-line and purchase paremeters do not work. I guess because they are no r3 functionality.

The only way to solve the Problem I can  see is to adjust the amount of my PO to 103 pieces. But this is not what I want to do, because I anly ordered 100 pieces and this will give me a wrong vendor Rating.

I also don't want to schedule the 100 pieces and then receive the 1033 pieces, because the 103 pieces are scheduled by the vendor and I don't want to loose this Information.

Any help? ideas?

Thanks

RE: Over delivery in Dynamics AX 2012 R3

    Thanks,

I've checked the LCS entry. I think this is very odd. Why does it work on sales order level but not on purchase order level. The logic should be the same.

I think we will then make a small change in code to transfer the value from po line to load line.

Our business case is that we order a specific quantity (100pieces) from a supplier and they produce the amount on order. To be safe they produce a little more to cover possible scrap (e.g. 110 pieces). At the end they end up with e.g. 105 good parts and 5 scrap pieces. And then they will deliver us the 105 pieces.

    Thanks

You're right. I tested the same in CU12; the Over/Under delivery settings on the item copy onto the PO Line, but not onto the Load Line. It works as I said on Sales orders -> Outbound loads.

But you're saying the over/under delivery on the Load Line is important for receipt of the Load? Sounds odd. If these settings are important, I would have thought they should copy from the PO.

I found this issue on LCS: 3661238

It says: Over-/Under delivery percentage is only used by sales and transfer orders.

But you have an example where it is relevant for PO Receipt?

RE: Over delivery in Dynamics AX 2012 R3

    Unfortunaltely this seems not enough:

In the purchase parameters the over- and underdelivery is activated:

    3343.bild_5F00_04.jpg

On item level a 10% over- and underdelivery is set:

    0211.bild_5F00_02.jpg

When I create a new purchase order the values for over- and underdelivery are inherrited to the purchase order line:

    2376.bild_5F00_03.jpg

Now I go to the load planning workbench, create a new load and assign the items of the PO line into the load.

When checking the Details of the load line, I can see that the values for over- and underdelivery were NOT inherited to the load line:

    3343.bild_5F00_04.jpg

The Parameter has to be set manually.

Is there a missing parameter that can handle this?

BTW: I another szenario I tried changed the the values for over- and underdelivery only on the load line and not on the PO line, here the load will not let me make a overdelivery either. So there must be a connection to the the values for over- and underdelivery in the PO line.

    Thanks

Probably you only need to enable the over/under delivery parameters in Procurement and sourcing, and then set Over/Under delivery on the Item. The settings on the item copy to the purchase order line. The settings on the PO Line copy to the Load line.

Thanks a lot for your help. This works perfectly.

The overdelivery on load line was new for me and I didn't expect it here.

I was playing with the parameters on the Purchase order line.

Is there a way to inherit the over- and underdelivery values from the purchase line to the load line?

Or to set default over- and underdelivery values on the load template? I coudn't find anything.

    Thanks

Over/under-delivery should work. What problem are you having with them? Oh, wait. You mean that the Load planning workbench is ignoring allowed over-delivery when you create a new load?

I've never tried, but is it possible to create a load for 100, but then create a packing structure for 103? (Assuming that you set over-delivery on the Load line).
