Remove Subject dependency from resolved or closed cases.

Is there any possible (supported) way to remove/update case subject field where case status is resolved or closed?

I have already tried the method of updating the resolved cases by reactivating them and re resolve after the changes, but using this method new "case resolution" records will be created with the new "Resolution" which we don't want.

We dont want to loose the data of "resolution" field in "case resolution" record.

Thanks in Advance.

    1. The subject | title field can't be modified once it's resolve. If you tried to modify any fields via SDK or web api, you will get below exception:

    "

       "error": {

           "code": "0x8007110f",

If you need to edit other fields, please reactivate the case.",

           "innererror": {

    2. If you want to modify this field without re-activating this case, you can raise a support ticket to Microsoft to try to modify the records via SQL script directly.

    Hi partner,

    The OOB way to update resolved case is reopen and re resolve.

    If you don't want this, you could refer to the following links.

    1.Using CRM Source Editor.

    2.Create a console app by C# and update the resolved case directly.
