Unit Cost as of date

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Good day!

We would like to ask if it is possible to generate Unit Cost as of particular date. For example, we want to know the Unit Cost of an item as of March 1, 2017.

RE: Unit Cost as of date

    Hi again omfwil,

There's a Unit Cost field on the Item Card, but that will show you the current Unit Cost.

If you need to look at the Unit Cost as of a certain date, I suggest starting at: Item Card > Statistics > Statistics

In the Show as Lines, select Cost Specification, and in the Show as Columns field, choose Period.

Set Date, Location and Variant filters as needed. For your purposes the date filter should be 3/31/17 (in your date format, if you are not based in the US)

You can toggle the View by to Day, Week, Month, etc. For now, keep it at Day.

And the View as can be set to Balance at Date or Net Change. For what you are describing, Balance at Date should be what you need.

You can enable or disable the Include Expected (aka Include Expected Costs) and Calculate per Unit options as needed. You can try with and without them to see the impact on cost.

When ready, click on Show Matrix, and you will be presented with the Unit Cost.

I hope this helps. If my response has answered your question, please verify by clicking "Yes" next to "Did this answer your question?"

You can check that from the Item Card click on the drill down next to the Unit Cost field or you can use th Avg. Cost Calc Overview report.

goto item card, menu navigate/purchases, select (special) prices (page 7012). in that list you can setup the purchase prices, set there also start and end date. in this page you can filter by starting date to find prices for a specific date.
