Hi,

Does any one know if there is an updated version of the address and contact information purposes for D365 for operations? cause there are not purposes and not sure what's their purpose. thank you

    Hi George,

    The purpose list is configurable. You will need to do the following:

    1. Go to Organization administration > Global address book > Address and Contact information purpose

    2. Click New and then select whether it is applicable on Address or contact information or both.

    Hi Syed, thank you for reply.. when issuing a cheque how do I configure the system to pick the remit to address?

    The check report picks up the primary address of the customer. It has nothing to do with the purpose.

    Hi Sayed, so the purpose is mostly to help the user identify which address to use in certain situations. is that a safe assumption?

    Purpose can be used in Print management settings. Let's assume that a customer has an e-mail address with a Purpose "Business" and then when you generate a customer account statement report and in the destination you specify print management, then system will automatically sent the report on e-mail to the customer's e-mail address.

    Hi Sayed, thank you for your help. aside from the print management settings what other purposes does the purpose serve? is there a documentation about that?
