How to Change System Entity Relationship to Configurable Cascading

Posted on by 94

Hello Dynamics 365 Community,

I am currently working on customizing our Dynamics 365 Sales environment and have encountered an issue. I need to change the relationship behavior of a system entity to be configurable cascading. However, the option appears as read-only, and I am unable to make any changes.

Specifically, I need to change the assign relationship behavior from Cascade All to Cascade None. Has anyone experienced this issue before? What steps can I take to make the relationship behavior editable? Any guidance or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your help!

    Okay,

There is also one more OOB 1:N relationship between account to account(account_master_account) which is not editable..

I thought you are trying to update above relationship.

    Thank you,

    Thank you for your response.

I have found a solution to edit the relationship. By creating a new solution and adding the existing table to it, I was able to customize the relationship within this solution. I have tried it, and it works.

    Thank you for your assistance!

    Hello User,

Given relationship is used by the system for the Parent child Account identification. This will help system to create hierarchy between the accounts.

This is the system relationship and it is not customisable.

If you want you can create a new relationship and use it for the customisation.

    Thank you,

    Greetings,

    Thank you for your response.

The relationship in question is within the Account entity, specifically between Parent Account and Account. Currently, if I assign the parent company, all of the companies under the parent company are assigned as well. I need to change the assign relationship behavior from Cascade All to Cascade None. The child companies' owners should not change when someone assigns their parent.

However, I am unable to change it as it shows as read-only. It may be because its relationship behavior is set to System.

Any guidance on how to achieve this would be greatly appreciated.

    Greetings,

what type of relationship is this? Can you give us more context?
Some relationships - especially those, which are systemmade and managed might not be customizable. In this case I would recommend you to create an own relationship and to migrate the data.
