Error received when adding a new Project Task from the Schedule tab of a project that has what we have called a "flat" schedule. Basically the WBS does not have any indented tasks.

If the same user with the same security structure is on a "complex" schedule, tasks with indented sub-tasks, the creation of a task takes place correctly.

We have verified this across different instances, and we have not introduced any plug-ins or other customizations to Project Tasks. Our gut is telling us there is a problem with the logic trying to re-sequence the WBS of existing projects and not seeing the new one getting added as a child to the predecessor.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I would suggest to open a ticket so that we can investigate this issue further to find cause and fix for it.

Hi Steveeluc,

Please confirm that all the out of the box Project Service plugins are enabled.

Also what happens if you create a new project and try to add Tasks to this one ? Would the problem reproduce?

Taking a fiddler trace might give more insights about the error.
