Updating an existing workflow

Hi,

Is it how t works or i am missing some step.

I have an existing workflow in DEV and PROD

I created a patch in DEV included the existing workflow, made a few changes and imported the managed patch in PROD but the changes in workflow didnt appear, why is that.
