calculated fields in word templates

Is there a way to create a placeholder for calulcated fields like a product of quantity and amount of opportunity product on word template in CRM 2016?

    I'm still experimenting with how much we can do with Word templates, but two things to consider here in particular:

    - by the time the data gets to the Word document, it is just plain text. The original data is not available as values, so you need to remember to put quotes round the content controls in order to use them in a formula, such as a condition

    - because everything is just text, you probably need to convert for example text to numeric formats in order to do any calculations with them.

    I have been trying to perform formulas as you state, but cannot get this to work. How would you propose to convert the text to a numeric value?
