Hi
When there is only one business unit or no specific BU in an organisation is it always a best practice to create a child BU under the root organisation and then add everything under it?
Could someone please share some knowledge on this?
Regards
Ravi
Hello Ravi,
Are you talking about the Default root BU?
If yes then depending on your requirement you will need to create Child BU from this Root BU.
This child BU will be applicable depending on your requirement because if users are from different regions and you want to make sure to maintain the security then you can create the child BU as per different regions.
Can you please elaborate your requirement which can help us to provide more insight.

Hi Amit
Yes I am talking about default root BU. My question here is to understand if it is a best practice to use the default root BU directly without creating any child BU?
Yeah you can use if it satisfy your requirement.

Hi Ravi,
Years ago, I started with just the root BU. Then, as I learned more about the system and our operations changed, I had to backtrack, add child BUs and move people around as needed.
If I were starting over again, I'd create a child under the root BU and work from there. YMMV.
Best,
Chris
