Working with HTML5 and Javascript in CRM 2011

Hello,

I am quite new working with html5 for crm 2011 (with a goal to work for crm 2013 finallly).

Now I am trying to retrieve attributes on an entity. But really don't know the steps those I should follow. Should I use html5 as a webresource? If so, then how should I open this html? with a javascript webresource, which may run from a button click?

I have also issues like, we have Silverlight solutions, which I will have to gradually convert to html5. For this I really don't have any clues or a good start. Is anyone experiencing the same? or already advanced in this area?

I would appreciate helps and directions of any kind.

You might like to look at my open source library SparkleXRM - www.sparklexrm.com/.../default.html

I built it specifically to make it easier to convert Silverlight Web resources to HTML and JavaScript.

    Hope this helps,

    Scott

    Thanks Scott!

I had try with you managed solution but could not load the silverlight done for quote product.

Are you suggesting to use scrpt sharp for my javascript codes?

I will be converting our silverlight solutions to html5. For this is this way is the best you think? Or should I use plain Notepad++ as editor.

Further, Are you using MVVM pattern and Knockout js as well? how this is beneficial, particularly for my case?

yes, lot of questions, yet, would be great if you please answer.

Hi - the quote product grid isn't silverlight - it is html. Did it give you an error?

SparkleXRM is about trying to bring together a number of projects (Script#, KnockoutJS, jQuery) to provide the glue that is necessary glue to make it quicker to develop HTML Web resources that sit inside Dynamics CRM.

I picked Script# because it is what is used by the Dynamics CRM Team to write their javascript and it means the code can be similar to Silverlight code - I picked MVVM because again it is similar to the way that I wrote Silverlight webresources.

There really isn't a right or wrong answer in this - it is a case of picking a collection of tools and running with it - SparkleXRM just aims to make that job easier.

    Hope this helps,

    scott

    Thanks Scott again!

Well, that make sense of course choosing the same as Dyn CRM.

Now, I am gonna try to understand SparkleXRM as deep as possible.
