Hi All
We want to block some users from exporting data in some areas like we want to stop them from exporting the customers information from the all customers list page in the same time they can export the sales orders.
- All customers can not export can view.
- Sales orders can export can view .
Regards,
I noticed that the links in the question I shared above were broken. Let me share a similar link. (must be fixed as taskExportExcel, not taskF5)
stackoverflow.com/.../disabling-f5-key-on-listpage-ax-2012
As the matter of fact is written to SysSetupFormRun.task, it will cause extra slowness in all forms. Although there is an acceptable slowness, it's not nice. If you don't see it as serious problem, I would say don't do it. (Also, the structure should be combined with the users.)
Apart from that, it is possible and more logical to write to the task method of the form, but since this is not possible in listpage, I shared the general method.
@Todd, the question was about Dynamics AX 2012.
Hi Hussien,
You should be able to use the following guide for customizing the Office menu in D365:
Thanks Nikolaos for your help
Yes I think If we disabled excel in some area we will decrease our problem with more than 90% as the data is very big and it's not possible to take screenshots for all this data also we can manage the access of all the other reports.
But if some user would like to do that, does your suggested solution really prevent them?
They can still take screenshots, print reports etc. If someone would like to break their contract and handle the data in a wrongful way, I'm sure they could still do it even if you disabled Excel export for them.
So I would like to ask you to consider again if this planned approach would really solve the problem that you are trying to solve. If not, then is it a problem that you want to spend time and money on?
You can prevent the users from using the Excel add-in (which is based on data entities) by not granting your users access to the related data entities. But as far as I know, you can't prevent your users from exporting grid contents to Excel on a form by form basis.
We want them to access the customers from the system to see in formations about this customers (mobile , Credit limit , Location,...etc) but not to export this data outside the system because some of them export customers data and use it after leaving our company and our request is not related only to this area , it's related to other areas like BOM's , Price agreements .
Being able to export data from a grid to Excel can't be enabled/disabled per form.
Why would you like to disable it? It's anyway data that they have access to.
