Service Order Invoice / Project Invoice Journal Data Entity

Hi,

I'm looking for the data entity for Project Invoice Journals (ProjInvoiceJour), but cannot find any, even though I can find the entities for Project Invoice Proposals like ProjInvoiceProposalEntity, ProjInvoiceProposalExpenseEntity, ProjInvoiceProposalHourEntity.

Is there any reason data entity for ProjInvoiceJour not available out of the box?

Can I simply create a custom data entity for it and set it as ReadOnly?

Hi Hairul,

Can you have a look at the GL journals?

If you create a new one and select 'open in Excel' then there is a template for project expense related transactions.

Have a look at how this template is designed and probably test it directly.

Might be sufficient.

Hi Ludwig,

sorry, I don't follow. How is general journals related to Service Order Invoice?

I checked the Invoice Voucher Transactions, but it's not posted into LedgerJournalTable & LedgerJournalTrans.

Purpose of this is user wants to use the Service Invoice information for PowerBI reporting. So they're wondering which data entity they can use.

Hello Hairul,

I was referring to this functionality and especially the entities used behind to import and post project expense related transactions.

If you work with service orders things should not be much different as they have a project relationship, which should allow you posting costs on the related project.

Is this what you need or did I misunderstand something?

In the latter case, please elaborate and provide some additional information/screenprints.

Hi Ludwig,

I was referring to Service Order in Service Management > Service Orders:

From Service orders, there are Project Invoice Proposals and Project Invoice Journals. I can find data entity for Project Invoice Proposals but not for Project Invoice Journals.

User assumed that Service Order Invoice would be similar with Sales Order Invoice, so they expect there has to be a data entity for it just like Sales Order Invoice, because they use the data entities as data source in Power BI.

They would want the project invoice information and related service orders to be available in the same entity. Does this make sense?
