Posting Setup Box Unchecking Itself

Posted on by 15

I have a strange occurrence happening in our instance of GP. The checkbox in Posting Setup (Tools>Setup>Posting>Posting) under series AR to Allow Transaction Posting under Sales Transaction Entry will randomly uncheck itself. It sounds odd, but there are only two people who have access to that window and neither of us are going in and changing that setting. We don't even go into that window until we try to post an invoice not in a batch and get the error that transaction level posting is not allowed.

Has anyone seen this or had it happen to them? What was the cause? It was suggested that maybe someone was updating all of the Sales series and it was changing the option for Sales Transaction Entry, but we do not feel that is the case here, as we only go into that window to recheck the box when it unchecks.

Any help or suggestions are appreciated! If we need to live with rechecking this box every other week, we can, it's just an annoyance.

I have seen issues when changes are made for a series without actually selecting a transaction type.

If you want to track exactly how this is changing, GP Power Tools can help.

You can also use the automatic logging mode to track the change in the table and identify how it happened.

    Hi Misty,

    Thank you for your post.

Something you could look into is the Activity Tracking

Administration >> Setup >> System >> Activity Tracking

Another idea would be to try and create some type of shadow table/tracing the SY02300 table (Posting Settings).

Hopefully one of these are able to help.

Please let us know how it goes regardless.

    Best Regards,
