    Hi,

It can be done with Dynamics 365 Business Central.

Please refer to the following article to know more about it.

Track Serial Numbers and Production in Dynamics 365 Business Central (erpsoftwareblog.com)

Hi Saravan, can you elaborate on your requirements? Is this full serialized inventory through installation? Is it just tracking the serial number when a product is installed at a customer site?

We want to track serials on our finished goods and inventory. I see inventory feature in field service and we are able to manage on-hand qty. but i am not able to track serials or any properties for the inventory.

Unfortunately we do not have true serialized inventory in Field Service. There are some partners who offer solutions though. If anyone seeing this thread can recommend a good ISV solution that would be great! In the meantime, here is the feature request on the ideas portal, definitely upvote it! - experience.dynamics.com/.../

Hi team, we have a similar requirement but for a different purpose.  We had retail sales for multiple Qty's to track serial numbers and just ran a WF to split the QTY's out to line items and add a serial number field.

For field service though we have a client running a transport business though and we have internal inventory that's used on trucks - it could be items like Fire Extinguishers etc that are an internal inventory item for the business but have expiry dates, service dates and serial numbers.

We used the idea on another thread to transfer these items to a Warehouse which is attached to a vehicle (Bookable Resource - Equipment) but I'm wondering if using assets based on what Dan Gittler is implying below, a better option.
