Hi all,
I have an inquiry regarding my Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement (D365 CE) environment. I've noticed that unlicensed users occasionally appear within the system. Could you please advise me on how to prevent this issue in the future? Additionally, what is the most efficient method for removing these unlicensed users? Is manual deletion the only option? I would appreciate any relevant documentation or resources that can clarify this matter. Thank you!

Thank you sir!
Hey
No, you don't need an Azure license to authenticate. As long as the user is Enabled in AzureAD/M365 and has a valid license, will do.
Regards,
Thank you for your reply. Of course, and I understand that part. I guess what I am asking is if I remove the Azure AD license will they be able to access the M365 tenant? Will they only have access to what licenses they are of part of? Do you need a AAD license to authenticate?
Hey!
LIcenses can be assigned either on Azure or on Microsoft 365 Admin Center (admin.microsoft.com). Licenses can be of several type: Dynamics 365, PowerApps per user, or even some other licenses (Project for example)

Thank you for your reply. So, my question is, if those users were not assigned a Azure Active Directory license would they still be able to access the M365 environment at all? Are there different type of AAD licenses?
Hi Lamar,
The best practise is to create Security Group and then assign thhe Security group to each environment,
If a member is not in the security Group then he cannot connect to your environment.
If a member will quit your entreprise and is not still user, Juste remove it from the security grouo.
I advise you to create security Group for you environment.
To know more about security groups Please follow these links :

hey Lamar.
Users will show on Environment if they are enabled on Azure Active directory and have a valid license (not necessarily a Dynamics 365 license). However, you can control this by assigning a security group to the environment, and only adding the required people to the security group. This will prevent unsolicited users to be synchronized (and therefore appear) in your environment.
IN order to remove the users, if you add a security group to the environment, users that are NOT members of the security group will become disabled. THen, as it has been previously stated, you can remove such users.
