How to show the full label for a field on the form

Hi All,

My requirement is to show the full label for a field. let say, I have a string fields & its label is some 100 characters long. So by default its showing only starting characters & hiding rest of it. so, to view full label we need to expand that field on grid.

I don't want to set it manually by dragging it & then saving it instead I want to show label fully when form will open & fields width will resize itself as per label length.

I am using current version of D365 finance & operations.

Hi Rahul,

I am not sure why your label is that much big.

Anyways to solve the issue, try setting the control width model property to 'manual' and set the width property to whole number and check.

thanks for the quick reply.

Actually I know its not very common to have this much long label but its client requirement on a field.

I tried to set width mode & width property but that's not working for this current requirement.

Refer to the property screenshot.

Refer to the output on the form. Its expanded but I am not sure whether the label id gets expanded. If possible, can you provide the screenshot.

Hi Girish,

I have set width property to 1500. we can see the full label in tooltip but still its not expanded after opening the form.

Do one more thing. Set the control Auto declaration property to Yes.

On the init method of the form set the label width as follows.

ControlName.labelWidht(1500);

I have tried this labelwidth property as well but the result still the same, its showing only some char in label & hiding others.

Thanks for the reply.

I have check that reference but it's all about to resize the textbox of form control using display length or width property.

but here I wan to resize the label. Also, my field string length is just 30 but label is some 100 char long. so, how label will adjust based on strlength.

You have tried all the work around. Setting the width property will work but I am not sure why its not working.

Only option will be expanding the column manually from the UI. Other then this ther is no other options.
