    Hi Krishna,

1, 2. AX7  is an old name for current version of AX. It was renamed recently to Dynamics 365 for Operations , so it's the same.

3, 4.  Dynamics 365 for Operations is not available on-premise. If you want to go on-premise you should implement AX 2012 or wait for release of Dynamics 365 for Operations on-premise version.

There never was any product officially named AX7. It was used as a code name during development, and it's unofficially kept used for versions of Dynamics AX with the major version number starting with 7. In the same way, you could say that AX 2012 is AX 6, but nobody does that.

When AX 7 was released in March 2016, the name was by Microsoft to "Microsoft Dynamics AX" without any number. It's bad name, because people already use Dynamics AX for referring AX in general, when version isn't significant, so we needed another name when talking about this version. Saying "the new Dynamics AX" isn't great, so many people stick to the code name, AX 7.

The November release of the new Dynamics AX (Platform Update 3, Application 1611) was presented as a part of Dynamics 365 suite and it's called Operation, but otherwise it's still the same thing. And therefore you can still colloquially call it AX 7.
