privilege to see the insights data: something went wrong message

Posted on by 532

Hi all

When a customer opens the insights tab with a custom sales role they can not see the data marketing insights, they get an error message something went wrong

I think it is an issue with the custom role, because the system administrator or the oob marketing roles has no issues to see the data

Does someone know wich privilege has acces to see the data

    Hi

This is not the problem it had to do with the other roles

The standard sales role in D365 does not see the insights either and is also getting errors

We do not want to give all persons the marketing role, just to see the data if a person had received a e-mail

So I am searching wich privilige does let them see the data in the insighst tab

    Hello Mariette,

We would recommend you to copy the existing marketing roles and then customize the copy.

"Each time you update Dynamics 365 Marketing, all of the standard, out-of-box roles are likewise updated to the latest versions to ensure that each role will receive permissions to access relevant new features added by the update. This means that you probably shouldn't customize the out-of-box roles because your customizations are likely to get overwritten after each update. If you need custom security roles, you should usually start by creating a copy of an existing role that is close to what you want, and then customize the copy. If you use custom security roles, then you will probably need to update your custom roles after each update to grant access to new entities."

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/marketing/admin-users-licenses-roles#inspect-and-customize-security-roles

    Hope this helps.

    Best regards,
