Customer Journey - use Event as parameter for Marketing E-Mail?

Posted on by 20

Dear community

I want to send a Marketing Email from a customer journey which is related to an Event in Dyn365. In the Marketing Email I want to use the Event registration link etc.

Can I add the Event to the "Marketing Email" tile in the customer journey as a parameter so that I can always use the same Marketing EMail record? (i.e. I do not want to add the specific Event everytime to the Marketing Email manually, i.e. I do not want to create a new "Marketing Email" record for each event.

Any pointers highly appreciated.

thanks,
Jürgen

    Hi JL2222,

    Thank you for the question.

You can fulfill your scenario by adding event URL as a custom field to your Content Settings (as nicely described above by Clofly Mao).

Each customer journey can have different Content Settings, so you will be able to dynamically use different event URLs in your emails.

    Best Regards,
    Aga

    Hi Jürgen,

From your description, it seems that you could like to display event URL in marketing email dynamiclly.

If so, the only option to pass parameters from customer journey to marketing email would be that setting up different content settings to customer journey:

    1. Create a custom field for Content Setting entity to represent event URL.

    2. Create multiple content setting records for all existing events.

    3. Add the custom field to marketing email with assit-edit tool.

    4. Set a specific content setting record to Content settings field in each time we run a customer journey.

    5. Event URL in marketing email will be different due to different content settings.

Please check links below to understand what is "Content Settings" and how to apply it to a customer journey.
