Good Morning,

I am trying to send alert popup for all online users at a time.

I have created one job and testing on my id first.

I set Tools -> options ->notification -> Receive Notification to every minute - 1

as this was one alert to send immediately for all online users.

When i am trying on my Userid.

I am getting alert popup after 1 minute.because i gave 1 minute in options.

as i want to change.

as the range is (1-1400).

How can i set popup to get immediately by coding.

Where this system is taking the value and generating popup after 1 minute.

Please throw some light on this.

Regards.

    Hi AX 2012 R3,

Alerts are running via a batch job which is running at a minimum once a minute. So it is not possible to have it immediately.

Can you explain what you want to achieve and for what reason?

Right click > Personalize: shows that the field is SysUserInfo.EventPollFrequency.

If you check cross-references on the field, you would see that it is used by the class method EventAlertPoller.newAlertPoller, where it multiplies the value in the field from milliseconds to minutes (*1000*60). Customizing this method would allow you to set up more frequent polling event handler.

It is using the InfoLog.addTimeOut framework to trigger the polling to send out the notifications.

Also as André have mentioned you have batch jobs for processing Change based and Due date alerts which picks up changes based on the alert rules. It is possible to change the batch framework too to have a frequency smaller than 1 minute, however that is a very advanced customization. This means that if the alert is generated, with the customization on the EventAlertPoller class you could get it immediately, but if you do not customize the batch framework, the change based alert might only come after 1 minute, once the batch process picks it up.

    Hi Andre,
    Thanks for your Quick reply.
i am creating one alert for all online users
i mean some one might restart AOS with out prior notice.
Some might be at middle of work.
better to send notification on screen like.
AOS is going to restart with in 5 minutes.
    So,all can save work.

But if it goes notification after 1 minute.it will not mean anything.

if it goes suddenly anyone can save in 5 minutes time.and close client.

    Regards.

In this case no changes are required for the batches, just customize the polling, and you could generate the alert yourself from code:

Whether I have five minutes to save my work (if I get the notification immediately) or four minutes (if there is one-minute delay) isn't a big difference. I don't understand why you claim that "it will not mean anything". If you want to give them more time, simply send the notification earlier.

Note that it's often handled by simply sending emails.

    Hi Martin.

if you are importing some thing.inbetween then one minute also is precious.

    Regards.

and that too other users may not set their Receive notification status - 1.then when they will receive(if it is set to 15 minutes after 15 minutes they will receive notification).

I though it's about "AOS is going to restart with in 5 minutes". Now you're seems to change to topic to "importing some thing", but you forgot to explain what this other scenario means.

To me, it's sounds like a problem in your processes.
