    Hi Test529,

I assume that this behavior is wanted irrespective of the unit of measure or of the quantity on the order.

In the targetted location directive, in the query for the Location Directive Actions try this on the Sorting tab; I haven't tested but it should work:

You are basically telling the system 'when you examine the location to find teh first valid location, look at them based on the on-hand quantity starting with smalled quantity'

    Hi Danny Bilodeau,

    Thank you for your inputs.

But i am not able put sorting criteria in sorting. as its removing the on hand inventory criteria in sorting tab.

here is location directive action range screen shot and also added in joins.

    Hello Test529,

In your query for location directive action you blurred the value for Location.  Is there an actual location identified there?  If there is, that is the location that will be used and sorting will not have any effect.

I do not understand what you mean by 'not able to put sorting criteria'.  When you select the Sorting Tab, were you able to add a new line with the On-Hand Inventory table using the Available Physical field to sort the locations in ascending order?

Danny365 and Test529 sorting on Physical Inventory quantities is only available when the location directive action query is batch enabled.  If you want to do something similar for non-batch enabled items, you need to extend the base query, if I recall correctly its WHSLocDirActionPick or something similar.  I've done this at 2012 R3 for a similar request, it works, but I haven't done it in D365.

    Colby and Danny,

I have tested with sorting (Available physical) and did not work for us, as the items are non batch enabled items.

kindly share where we can extend the base code to achieve our business requirment.

    Thank you.
