Error message on email sending

I would like to test the process of sending customer invoice to customer by email.

I follow the process: https://community.dynamics.com/blogs/post/?postid=d9bf3a65-5c9b-456e-b4c1-a9f97a50a200

But I still got below error message:

I checked the email configuration from https://dynamics-tips.com/email-templates-dynamics-365-finance-and-operations/?expand_article=1#google_vignette

I didn't setup 'SMTP settings'. I suspect it was caused by 'Authentication'. What could I fill in? This is a testing environment.

Hence, there are 3 types of email providers, EML, Exchange and SMTP, what are their difference?

Which one should I use?

Use SMTP with Authentication Enabled to "Yes"

you can also use the below code for SMTP test.

Hi STP,

You should set Outgoing mail sever , Authentication required , User Name ,and password. After you filled theses values you can Test it from Test email tab.
