    Hi Nimisha,

    1. Click AX > Retail > Setup > Devices.

    2. Select the number of the device that you are trying to activate.

    3. In the Activation status column, check whether the status is activated or deactivated.

    4. Change the Activation status to Pending

    5. Activate the device again

    6. The device should now activate successfully.

NOTE: Check event viewer of retail server for more information.

RE: Failed to Activate Modern POS

    Hi,

I have tried in another system and step 1 is passed but again stuck in step -2(Logging in anonymously failed). I have already enable below setting in rs-settings file of retail server.

    RetailServerAllowAnonymousMetadata" value="true"

Also enable below setting in web.config file of retail server.

    "AllowAnonymousMetadata" value="True"

RE: Failed to Activate Modern POS

    Follow these steps:

    • Make sure Real Time Services (RTS) is working
    • Check Shared Parameters - RTS is configured for device activation
    • Check Register/Visual Profile - Register has been configured with the correct VP
    • Create entry in devices form - Register has been correctly configured in Devices form
    • Check Database name in Channel Database Form  - This is very important. Retail Server uses this configuration to connect to Channel DB. Check connectionstring column in crt.storagelookupview table in to make sure Channel DB connection string has been correctly set.
    • Check Channel Profile - Correct RS url has been entered
    • Check permission – Activate device permission is set for the worker
    • Sales Layout ID in Register - not sure if this important
    • Make sure you can see the meta data for RS from the modernpos login
    • Make sure you have opened the RS port(s) on your firewall
    • Full Sync after you have done above config and before you try to activate modern POS.

    I Hope this Helps!

    Regards,

    Rodolfo Recalde.

RE: Failed to Activate Modern POS

    Hi,

If you have installed everything (Retail Serve, RealTime service and MPOS) in one machine then you have to do loopback exception.

If you haven't done this then it will not move and struck in Step 1.

You can run following command from Command prompt (Run as administrator)

    checknetisolation.exe LoopbackExempt -a -p=<ID from Registry>

    Example: checknetisolation.exe LoopbackExempt -a -p=S-1-15-2-4063414866-187955044-4013043225-3214373788-2918839746-817992155-3950852329

You can take the ID from Registry

RE: Failed to Activate Modern POS

    Hi,

This error occurs if you haven't configured properly your Real Time service profile. Looks like you have there is mismatch between IIS application name (RTS) and configuration in Real Time service profile > Web application name.

    Hi Sridharan,

Web application name is mismatched in real time service profile form.

    Thank you very much.
