Bar Code/QR Code control not shown if the field is blank - Dynamics 365 App

Hello guys,

we need to scan a QR code through the Dynamics App, using Dynamics 365 Online. We set the bar code control in a single line of text field.

Then, when using the app, tapping on the field the bar code control is not present if the field is blank.

The same behaviour is present in iOS and android.

Obviously a workaround would be to fill in the field automatically with a dash or something similar, but it is not the cleanest thing to do (also if scanning the QR code overwrites the string previously inserted).

It's a pity the presence of this strange behaviour, since otherwise it works pretty fine.

Did you experience the same behaviour? And above all :) , did you solve it?

Hi,

Would be good if you can contact MS support in this case. this could be a bug. According to below article, it seems they can tap the barcode without any value in it.
