Dynamic value not working on the email body in workflow

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hello Everyone,

I am writing a workflow that sends an email on-field value change. I am using dynamic values. The values are working fine on "To" and "Subject" but it is not working on the email body. Any suggestions on that. What is the error?

Here is the screenshot.

    Hi,

I've tried both with a workflow in the solution and to create a completely new, no difference. However, I managed to get further yesterday when I realized the values did work even though they did not get yellow, just needed to save in between every added value.

    Hi,

Please Check you form proper whether the form on which you are trying which is not part of your solution. Or else i suggest you to create new form for trail purpose and add it and modified it then check whether you and able to get dynamic value or not.

I've tried different web browsers but no difference.

Did you find a solution for this at the end?

    Hi Mohammad,

You can not manually enter the input for retrieving dynamic values from entities. You will need to select the related entity and fields (which you want to populate the value dynamically) from the “Look For” options and the chick ok “Add” button. Then click on the position in the “Email Body” (where you want to add the dynamic value) and click on the “Ok” button. This way the “Dynamic Value” will be added in the “Email Body” and it will be highlighted in “Yellow”.

    Please refer below screenshot,

And when you execute the workflow on the related entity, then it will populate the “Email Body” based on the values provided in the workflow.

Please refer to the below screenshot,

    Hope this helps,
    Thanks!
