Dear Experts,

can someone explain to me the difference between "Customized Element Not Found" and "Parent Element Not Found",  and why i can drag the parent element into the form and i cannot do that to the Customized ?

is that means( or define ) that Parent element is an out of the box element ?

kindly also post any useful links, videos for the code upgrade procedure while working on the CodeMerge solution and the upgraded solutions.

Regards,

I have the same question (0)

    Hi sylvesterPowerBi,

are you having some specific issue with these errors? You posted earlier a question about "Customized element not found" (community.dynamics.com/.../customized-element-not-found) but we haven't heard any updates from you, since the latest suggestions.

Unfortunately I don't have an answer to you, but can you tell us what would you do with the information about differences between Customized element not found and Parent element not found? I hope you can resolve both using the suggestions that were given to you in your previous question.

    Hi Sylvester,

On what form are you seeing this message and what changes are you trying to do? Could you please provide some more information regarding the same?

This same question has been asked on the forum a few minutes back. Is that from you as well?

    Hi ,

So basically It tells us that there is a group control that no longer is contained within a parent control. This is pretty common on an upgrade from AX 2012 to the D365 because the form design patterns have changed. Some things simply don’t translate into the new design. So, basically, the strategy here is going to be to refactor this into something that we can change with our judgement as human beings (not automated processes).

Hi Gunjan, thanks for replying here as i mentioned this was my friend's account i have deleted the question there no idea why it's still showing,! anyway while upgrading from Ax2012 to D365  you will have conflicts on the form causing issues, please see below photo

as you can see there is 2 types of conflicts, the parent conflict you can drag it into the form's  design but the customized element all you can do is ignore the conflict and this will make the element disappear

so what do you mean is that i have to extend the form and create those not found customized elements  ? no other way to resolve the conflicts right '?

    Hi Sylvester,

looks like this form has customizations. Have you already created a form extension?

Anyway you have to remove all custom things from the standard form and move it to extensions.

You need to compare this to the form in AX2012 in order to succesfully resolve the issues.

should i create extension in application suite CUS model or in a new model created by me ?

Please create the extension in the new model created by you.
